Firewatch is a rather intriguing first person shooter headed to PS4 and PCs next year, which follows an unusual premise for a video game, and for a shooter at that- it is set in the aftermath of the 1988 Yellowstone fires, and casts the players as a volunteer fire lookout.
It sounds pretty interesting, and sufficiently differentiated from everything else on the market, but of course, any game is only as good as it plays, which is why seeing it in action is believing. This new gameplay footage, 17 minutes of it, narrated by developer Campo Santo’s Co-Founders Sean Vanaman and Jake Rodkin, demonstrate just what this new shooter will be like- and it sounds like a lot of unusual elements will be making their way into this game.
Firewatch is due out in 2016 on PS4, as well as PCs running Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage and information on the game.
Thanks, IGN.
