Firewatch PS4 Confirmed To Run At 1080p Resolution, Currently No Plans For An Xbox One Version

Campo Santo's Sean Vanaman does want as many people to play it as possible however.

Of the many high profile games releasing in 2016, especially in February, it’s interesting to note of Firewatch from Campo Santo. Housing developers experienced in titles like Tales of Monkey Island and The Walking Dead like writer/designer Sean Vanaman, Campo Santo will be launching a mysterious adventure in Wyoming wilderness with Firewatch.

GamingBolt spoke to Vanaman about Firewatch and he confirmed that with the PS4 version will be rendered at 1080p resolution, however the frame rate seems like it’s going to be locked at 30. “The game is definitely in 1080p – last I played it was at 30fps. It’s not a high-action shooter so 60fps, etc, is not as important. There aren’t any rad explosions you can bask in.”

Why isn’t it coming to Xbox One? Well, there isn’t a specific reason. Vanaman said, “Not really – we’re just a small studio and can only do so much.”

As for any plans to bring Firewatch to Microsoft’s console at some point, “There are no plans right now but we, obviously, want as many folks to play the game over the long term as possible!” So there is a possibility that an Xbox One version may release in the future but the developer is not making any promises.

Firewatch is out on February 9th for PS4, PC, Mac OS X and Linux.
