Despite Hitman: Absolution releasing just recently, with the PC version arriving several days later thanks to our ever reliable local distributors, it seems Square-Enix is pushing forward with the next Hitman game as a piece of concept art was recently posted to the Square-Enix Montreal website.
The concept art shows Agent 47 in the background, waltzing into a court house which is seemingly under lockdown as police cordone off the scene and a reporter, er, reports on the proceedings. Oddly enough, we can also see a crowd of protestors, one of them holding up a sign that says “Don’t Feed Greed” a bit to the left of where 47 is standing. Curious.
Square-Enix Montreal has been designated for developing the next Hitman game, which will seemingly launch in 2013. It features several members of IO Interactive, who worked on Absolution, and both the Montreal Studio and Square-Enix will alternate duties for developing the franchise. Which means yet another high profile franchise has gone the yearly sequel route.
Joy.
Update:
More artwork has arrived via Eidos Montreal’s Twitter and SchaffiGames.
