During Nintendo’s indie showcase back in January (which also saw Chucklefish’s Wargroove dated), Humble Bundle showcased Forager. Developed by HopFrog, this 2D open title promises exploration, farming, and crafting with a twist. The developer has now confirmed when we’ll be able to play it – April 18th on PC for $19.99.
Check out the release date announcement trailer below, which highlights the game’s premise in a nice happy-go-lucky way. With an emphasis on setting your own goals, Forager is about collecting materials, crafting items, creating a base, and buying more land to keep expanding. Along the way, you’ll fight enemies, learn new skills, and unlock new blueprints.
There’s a whole lot more to the game, including taming animals, growing plants, building a trade empire, and much more. Four “old-school, Zelda-like” dungeons also await exploration. Forager will also be coming to PS4 and Nintendo Switch “in a couple of months more” according to its developer. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
