French Artist Imagines PS5 In Concept Renders, And It Looks Stunning

Not a bad look for the next generation of console gaming.

While the PS4 isn’t slowing down too much near the end of it’s life, the idea of an upcoming PlayStation 5 has become more and more appealing. Of course, games consoles are no strangers to fan artist renders coming long before an official release, with the one you see above coming from French designer Joseph Dumary.

Created simply as a part of his online portfolio, the images are based heavily off of the existing PS4 models, giving the system itself a rather sleek look that screams advanced. Dumary pairs the concept with a video, explaining some of the features his dream system would come with. The one I’m not a huge fan of is his DualShock 5, featuring a tiny touch screen in the middle of the controller to give alerts, notifications and a fingerprint sensor. Wireless charging through, I could get behind.

His suggestions for the system are also a bit out there, and contradictory to industry analysis, such as coming with no disk drive. Dumary also imagines that the system would enjoy wireless HDMI output with the capacity for 8K resolutions. Not likely before the expected launch around 2020 I’m afraid, but we can dream.
