Frostpunk is Now Available on PC, Dystopian Snow Cities Cool Again

Build the last city and keep it running, no matter the cost.

11 bit Studios, better known for its emotionally devastating This War of Mine, has released its newest game Frostpunk on PC via Steam. Check out the launch trailer below and learn more about what makes this dystopian future just as impactful.

Essentially, most of the world is gone. The denizens of New London have been on the move and are finally establishing the last city on Earth. Your role is to help this city thrive by any means necessary, whether it’s keeping your citizens hope alive or enacting harsh measures to survive at any cost. Create different laws, invest in automations and much more to keep the lights on and your people warm.

Grzegorz Miechowski, CEO of 11 bit Studios, said that, “We’ve evolved our game’s content to robustly explore player’s morality deeper and more in-depth than ever before. We’ve been searching this fascinating gray-area, where nothing is purely good or evil. You, as a player, need to make decisions based on your moral compass and ability to foresee the consequences of your choices.

“From deciding the fate of individuals to deciding the destiny of an entire society – that was the creative process of Frostpunk. That’s how I’ve watched this game develop into a story about the price of power; about the responsibility of being a leader. That was a challenging project, but I’m delighted to see its premiere today and I’d like to express my big thanks and respect for the team at 11 bit studios for making this game as it is. I hope it’s just the beginning of a long journey. We already have a ton of ideas and plans to add new scenarios to the game and vastly expand the universe.”

Along with the main campaign, there are two additional scenarios for players to immerse themselves in. These scenarios come with their own stories and challenges along with newly shaped maps with different sites nearby to discover.

If you already own This War of Mine, then Frostpunk can be purchased at a 10 percent discount. The offer is valid until May 1st, however.
