Frostpunk is an upcoming game where you play as the ruler of a city on earth and try to ensure the survival of this city and its inhabitants. The game’s developer 11 bit studios has announced the release date of the game and has also revealed a new trailer and new screenshots of the game to go along with this announcement.
Frostpunk is set to release on April 24, 2018 with the digital version priced at $29.99 and the physical version priced at $34.99. This physical version of the game will be called the “Victorian Edition” and will include the “New London- The Art of Forstpunk” artbook. Talking about why the game’s release has been delayed Managing Director Grzegorz Miechowski stated,“We wanted to make it before end of Q1, but we ended up slightly moving the release further. The reason is simple – we needed this time for the final polishing required to deliver a game that, we believe, is the best 11 bit title so far. For us, production value is always the most important thing and a bug-free, carefully-balanced game is crucial to offer gamers the experience we want them to have. This War of Mine was a unique game about moral choices, and with Frostpunk, we are bringing this to a whole new level. It’s true that it took us some time to get here, but I’m happy to say that it was worth it!”
The game is set in the 19th Century and we can expect it to be morally complex and involving many tough decisions for the player to make just like in the studio’s previous game, This War of Mine. If this game sounds exciting to you, check out the new trailer and screenshots below.
