As if there weren’t enough rumours going around about the PlayStation 4.5 or PS4K, GameStop chief operating officer Tony Bartel hinted at rumoured new console launches for this year, which could further point to the console’s existence.
It was at GameStop’s 2016 Investor Day where Bartel said the company was pleased with technologies like virtual reality and rumored new console launches which are imminent. We already know that the Nintendo NX is one such platform – and could potentially be out this year – but why use the plural term “launches” unless Bartel was referring to something else? Either Microsoft also has something up its sleeve or that PS4K is actually a thing.
The PlayStation 4K will improve quite a bit on its predecessor. Rumours indicate that its GPU will be twice as powerful as the PS4 with a 4K Blu-ray player (thus allowing for 4K resolution output, despite games not being developed with 4K in mind currently).
