GameStop Sold Through Nearly All Of Its Xbox One X Shipments In 24 Hours

A successful launch for Microsoft.

It sounds like the Xbox One X has had a successful launch. While we still don’t have any specific numbers, GameStop has come forth with information about how the system has moved in its stores following its launch. GameStop’s word is especially noteworthy, because it is the largest dedicated retailer for video game hardware and software around the world.

“Sales of the new Xbox One X have been incredible! We have sold through most of our initial allotment in just one day,” GameStop SVP of merchandising Bob Puzon said in a statement released regarding the console’s sales. “We are already working with Microsoft to get our hands on more of the world’s most powerful video game console!”

Of course, it is important to remember that we don’t have any numbers yet- as an example, if GameStop had an allocation of 5,000 units, and sold through most of those in a day, that’s not necessarily very impressive. Of course, I’m sure the allocation was much bigger, and that the Xbox One X has sold a whole lot in its first day- all indications are that this was a very successful launch. But the exact specifics of the thing are, at least for now, unknown.

Hopefully, we get actual concrete numbers soon- maybe not from Microsoft, because they don’t share them any more, but from other sources.
