It started out as a April Fool’s Day joke for Coffee Stain Studios, the developer behind the awesome Sanctum series, but Goat Simulator has now become a cultural phenomenon in its own right. It’s even gone on to inspire a ton of different “simulator” titles that strain the limits of credulity (hello, Rock Simulator). Are we surprised that the iOS and Android release of Goat Simulator – which retails for $4.99 – sold 100,000 units in the past five days? Only a little bit, actually.
Coffee Stain Studios was ecstatic about the same on its blog: “It feels really amazing that so many people like our game! We’re also really happy that we can now reach out to even more goat fans, and that people without a computer can now also enjoy the life of being a goat!”
There’s a possibility that Goat Simulator will be arriving on other platforms – perhaps Windows Phone OS? – but right now, the team is focused on fixing any bugs. Have you played Goat Simulator on mobiles? Let us know in the comments.
