Godfall Developer Praises PS5’s Improved Social Features

Keith Lee seems happy with the new streamlined approach.

With a new generation of consoles, or any kind of new technology in general, the hope is always that you will see something genuinely fresh and that the things from previous iterations will be improved upon. That isn’t always the case, but it seems that a lot of things Sony is doing with the PS5 is looking to refine and streamline a lot of processes. The CEO of Godfall‘s developer seems to think they’re doing a pretty good job.

Speaking to Official PlayStation Magazine in the latest issue (December 2020), Keith Lee spoke about the new social features the PS5 will have. A lot of these features were detailed in the recent UI showcase, which you can read about and see in full through here. He’s impressed with the new voice chat and quick ability to get invites and get into group (thanks to Wccftech for transcribing).

“It’s now much easier to go from invite to voice, plus play, than ever before. That’s to me the biggest value to the player. It’s being able to just get an invite, boom. Again, get onto voice and play with my friends as quickly as possible without a lot of ‘How do I do this?’ and the confusion around that. And they have a new, improved social overlay card for arranging social play sessions with a friend. That’s just so much better.”

Lee also expressed similar sentiment about the PS5’s DualSense controller, so it seems he’s pretty impressed all around. Godfall will release on November 12th for PlayStation 5 and PC. Later today it is scheduled to have deep dive into loot, progression and more.
