Google has finally announced when Stadia, its game streaming service, will launch. It’s out on November 19th but this is for the subscription-based Stadia Pro, which will set you back $9.99 per month. Only 14 territories will have it at launch including the United States, Canada, Denmark and United Kingdom.
Check out the handy video below for more information on how exactly Stadia works. The basic idea is that game downloads and installations will be a thing of the past – Stadia will allow for streaming game’s directly to different devices like tablets, TVs and laptops. Of course, if you want the full 4K/60 FPS goodness, you’ll need 35 Mbps connection.
While several titles like Darksiders: Genesis, Cyberpunk 2077, GRID and so on will be available on the service, they’ll still have to be purchased separately. Some free games will be available every now and then, like the Stadia Pro Founder’s Edition containing Destiny 2: The Collection along with a three month subscription. A free version of the service will be available next year but we’ll see how it rolls out come November. Stay tuned in the meantime.
