Rumours had been running rampant when Polyphony Digital announced Gran Turismo 6 that it might end up hitting the PlayStation 4 after launching on the PlayStation 3. Polyphony itself didn’t really confirm the rumours, instead stating that it was open to bringing the racing simulation over to PS4 in the future perhaps.
At a recent Gamescom panel, head of Polyphony Kazunori Yamauchi remarked that if Gran Turismo 6 did ever come on to the PlayStation 4 at some point in the future, it would “evolve” into Gran Turismo 7.
Of course, he didn’t think the “vision” of GT6 would carry over into the seventh game, so it’s extremely likely that if Gran Turismo 7 did happen for the PS4, it would feature most of the content of its predecessor along with a ton of new additions. Regardless, Gran Turismo on the PS4 is being planned. When it will come out is anyone’s guess.
On the other hand, Gran Turismo 6 will be releasing on December 6th for the PlayStation 3.
