The unexpected delay that Gran Turismo Sport got last year, coupled with the fact that it still does not have a proper release date, as well as the franchise’s history of long delays during development before, convinced players that the game is currently nowhere near close to release. However, it looks like that assumption may have been wrong.
Sony and Polyphony Digital today announced a closed beta for the game- what’s more, this closed beta is beginning very soon. As in next week soon. The closed beta will be beginning on March 17, and will be made available only to US PSN players. In the beta, players will be able to choose from a select rotation of cars and tracks each day to race online against others- these track and car selections will vary by the day, and there will be a mix of race categories and course configurations, which means that you should be able to get familiar with a smattering of content that is planned for the game.
Gran Turismo Sport currently has no release date, but is due to launch some time this year exclusively on the PlayStation 4.
