Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo Sport finally has a release date and a wealth of information for fans to properly get hyped for it. Game Watch recently spoke to producer Kazunori Yamauchi who revealed even more details, particularly related to the resolution and real-time damage.
Though gameplay footage didn’t show cars being damaged when bumping into its each other, Yamauchi clarified that it simply wasn’t enabled during the recently showcased demo. The damage system is internally and will be in the final game. What won’t be included is dynamic weather. Though weather can be selected at the beginning of the race, it won’t change throughout. The developer took this decision to ensure steady quality in the visuals.
Which segues into the dev team targeting 1080p resolution and 60 FPS. Frame drops can still be seen in the gameplay but Polyphony is working to optimize the game further in the future to ensure a stable 60 FPS.
Gran Turismo Sport is out on November 15th in North America and November 18th in Europe for PS4.
