Recently an article was released on NSS confirming the development and tentative release date of possibly the most anticipated game drop of all time, Half-Life 3.
The article quotes Valve developer, John Guthrie as saying, “I can’t confirm all too much since the development is still in early stages, but for now I can confirm that we are going to release on both current and next generation consoles and we will also release the game on our own platform exclusively for PC and Mac. We hope to have the first trailer ready for E3 2014″.
Though this article was widely disregarded by most major news sources, word spread through the gaming community, as Half-Life fans will latch onto anything that can be construed as a possible release for ther holy grail of gaming. Once word spread to Valve they quickly confirmed the article as “bogus.”
But wait… Valve confirmed that this post was the work of a troll, and dubbed it a bogus article. “Bogus article” has 2 words. “Troll” has five letters. 5 – 2 = 3.
Half-Life 3 confirmed.
In all seriousness though, Valve has released no details on Half-Life 3, and all reports are that development has yet to even begin. Valve’s Chet Faliszek was quoted, “I just want to say this so there is no confusion – This is the community trolling the community, nothing more. While it is nice to see people excited about anything HL, I hate seeing people be trolled like this.”
Half-life fans, it seems, will have to continue to wait for legitimate progress on Half-Life 3.
