Half-Life: Alyx Minimum PC Requirements Revealed

Nvidia GTX 1060 and 12 GB of RAM seem to be the current minimum.

Valve Software’s return to the Half-Life franchise is as shocking as it is fitting but Half-Life: Alyx is very much real. Taking place between Half-Life 1 and 2, it focuses on Alyx Vance as she tries to rescue her father Eli Vance. Of course, that means tussling with the Combine while bolstering the Resistance.

But that’s not the only thing you’ll need to bolster. The Steam page for Half-Life: Alyx has been updated to showcase minimum PC requirements and they’re fairly hefty. Along with a VR-compatible device, you’ll need an Intel Core i5-7500 or Ryzen 5 1600 and 12 GB of RAM. In terms of GPU power, an Nvidia GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 580 with 6 GB VRAM will be required.

These are the minimum requirements but could be updated closer to launch. The real question is what graphical details this will offer and how much greater a bump the recommended requirements could offer. Regardless, we’ll find out in the coming months – Half-Life: Alyx is out in March 2020.
