Half-Life: Alyx – New Gameplay Footage Showcases Headcrabs, Exploration, and Combine

Overall combat and exploration are also showcased in over 10 minutes of new footage.

Valve Software has released new gameplay footage for Half-Life: Alyx, which are essentially three parts of one journey. Throughout it all, we see protagonist Alyx Vance dealing with Headcrabs, Zombies and even Combine. Check out all three videos below.

The footage helps highlight some of the neater aspects of VR, like casually flipping over a dead Headcrab to see its ugly face. Shootouts with the Combine also look great as the player can take cover and shoot over it, making battles that much more tense. We also see a variety of dark corridors and infested environments, and the series has never looked better.

While teleportation movement is showcased, Valve has already clarified that smooth movement will also be supported. Half-Life: Alyx is out on March 23rd for PC and is free for owners of Valve Index. It also supports a variety of other VR headsets on PC like HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
