We’ve already reported about the Xbox 360 selling 1.26 million units in November for the US, according to the NPD, while Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 notched an impressive 7.5 million units sold in the same. Now, more data is coming out to indicate the total number of units sold for some of the other big releases, namely 343 Industries’ Halo 4 and Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed 3.
Despite finishing behind Black Ops 2, Halo 4 sold a whopping 3.2 million units in the US during November, while Assassin’s Creed 3 sold 2.9 million units in the same period. The closest competitor to the two is Criterion’s Need for Speed: Most Wanted, which sold about 509,000 units, according to NPS sales data leaked by analyst firm Cowen and Company.
This seems to fit in line with the overall retail video game decline of 11 percent, which according to NPD analyst Liam Callahan was “the smallest year-over-year decrease we have seen for dollar and unit sales so far this year.”
