Haven Confirmed for PS4 and Switch, Gameplay Trailer Released

Find out how combat, conversations, and exploration work in The Game Bakers' next title.

The Game Bakers, better known for their twitch-based hack and slash Furi, has offered new details on Haven. The adventure RPG was announced earlier this year in February and along with PC, it will be coming to PS4 and Nintendo Switch. A release date still hasn’t been determined but 2020 is still the goal.

Thankfully, the first gameplay trailer for Haven has been revealed, offering a taste of what can be expected. The title itself is about Yu and Kay, a couple who escaped to an alien world to be together and must now survive the various trials and tribulations. Creative director Emeric Thoa says that it’s “a very accessible RPG, a relaxing game” and “purposefully a very different experience from Furi.

“But as with Furi, we tried to make a game that you have never experienced before. The story of a couple fighting for their freedom, an established relationship: what love looks like when you’ve moved past the early seduction phase, when you can be your true self with one another… I don’t think that’s been done much in video games.”

The gameplay, which sees two characters being controlled at once as they chain abilities together, is fairly intriguing. Thoa mentions it as being a mix of Journey and Persona, except with an electronic soundtrack by Danger. Despite being a single-player title, a friend can jump in via local multiplayer and share the adventure.
