The Order: 1866, the first notable exclusive the PlayStation 4 is getting in four months, is almost here, and if you have been awaiting Ready at Dawn’s debut PlayStation 4 effort, then you’re in luck, as we were treated to an avalanche of information today, courtesy of an interview with Creative Director Ru Weerasuriya by Taiwanese website Bahamut’s Crazy Arcade.
Weerasuriya had a lot to share- he stated that there is no difference between high and low resolution assets, everything is equally detailed at all times. He confirmed that the sceneries and areas in the game are, contrary to whatever we have been shown so far, very expansive- in fact, they are expansive enough that he stated that this game could not have been done on the previous generation of hardware.
He confirmed that while the story and the weapons are fictional, the team did extensive research into the history of the era the game is set in to make it come off as authentic and believable. He also confirmed that the Order 1866 has been a long time coming- Weerasuriya started working on the game’s story ten years ago, and the game was conceptualized around then. Unfortunately, the team agreed that no console on the market back then would do it justice, so they waited while they worked on a variety of action games to hone up their skills.
The Order: 1866 launches this month. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more.
