Hollow Knight: Lifeblood Update Now Available in Steam Public Beta

PC owners get a chance to try game balance changes, new features and more.

Team Cherry still doesn’t have a release date for the Nintendo Switch port of Hollow Knight. The Metroidvania-esque platformer is still very much in the polish stage. However, in the meantime, the developer has new update that will be included when the Switch port finally does release.

The Lifeblood update is already available in Steam public beta for current owners of the PC version. What’s interesting is how much has been changed from the addition of more sound effects and voices to optimizations and performance enhancements. One boss has been significantly upgraded and there’s a brand new boss with some new music from composer Chris Larkin.

Map markers are finally here, thus allowing you to designate locations properly. Tweaks and changes to game balance have also been done. While it remains to be seen just how much was tweaked (and whether certain OP Charm combinations have been nerfed or not), the fact that all of the updates and DLC have been free till now is really generous. Stay tuned for more information on the Switch release in the coming weeks.
