Apple has always been on the forefront, one way or another, when it comes to mobile gaming. It was really the App Store that kicked open the games for mobile titles, and it’s the ongoing Apple Arcade service that is attempting to bring it to far larger audience. Those who can’t get into mobile have their reasons, but one less reason now is traditional controller support as the iOS updates have given you access to native DualShock 4.
As announced on the PlayStation Blog, the update is available now which will allow you to connect with ease to your PS4 controller. While some features may be restricted (some games will not support the touchpad or vibration function for instance), it’s still functional. Not only that, you can enjoy streaming from any app compatible with PS4 remote play with the DualShock. You can read through the blog for more details.
Along with iOS 13 comes iPad OS and tvOS13, all of which come with the same compatibility. Those updates are live now and with macOS Catalina coming to Macs in October.
