While Sony has been largely silent about the rumored PS4K or the PS4 Neo, depending on what you think it might be called, the company is apparently indirectly talking about the device as we get closer to E3. Sony Computer Entertainment Vice-President for Southern Europe Philippe Cardon gave an interview to the French website, Challenges where he shed at least a little bit of light on the company’s thinking.
“PS4 has been developed to be compatible with VR, but within the life of a console research and development teams are still working on improvements. The current PS4 dates back multiple years. It’s normal to think of it’s update. However, I have no more information than that to provide,” Cardon told the website.
This is far from confirmation of the impending release of the newest PlayStation console but it’s also not the stonewalling the company has been doing for the last few months. Perhaps Sony will be willing to talk more in June at E3.
