Jet Set Radio Reboot Will be Open World, Sega Confirms

Players will "experience the 'rebellion' movement that feels free in a suffocating society," Sega says.

At The Game Awards earlier this month, Sega announced reboots of five of its classic franchises, and reboot of Jet Set Radio, which had been previously leaked, was probably the one that got the most people out of their seats. Following that, the company has revealed some more brief, new details on the game in a presentation shared at a management meeting.

Chief among the tidbits shared on Jet Set Radio is the fact that, as many anticipated, it’s going to be an open world experience. The information was shared by Sega alongside a single new screenshot of the game (which you can view below), which also says that players will “experience the ‘rebellion movement that feels free in a suffocating society” and “make friends, increase your fans, and create a movement”.

New details have also been shared on reboots for Crazy Taxi, Shinobi, and Golden Axe, while Sega has also confirmed that the next Streets of Rage game will be called Streets of Rage Revolution.

Past leaks have claimed that the Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi reboots are going to employ live service elements, though until now, Sega has given no indication as to whether or not that will be the case.
