The multiplayer mod for Square Enix’s Just Cause 2, which stands as one of the most popular mods for the game, will be launching on Steam officially, the official Just Cause forums tell us.
Launching some time before the end of this year, the mod’s client will be available to download on the Steam storefront, with full integration for Steam and its community features. We don’t have an official release date for the mod yet, though we do know that the final beta will start December 7 and run through December 14, following the conclusion of which the final release date will be announced.
The success of this mod stands as another victory for user generated content for PC games, where mods and modding have long stood as an integral part of the experience, to the extent that developers like Valve and Bethesda release official modding tools for the community.
