Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Nintendo’s first 3D platformer starring the pink puffball, is out now on Nintendo Switch. A launch trailer has been released but along with showcasing gameplay, it also attempts to “explain” Kirby. More impossible things have been attempted but it’s worth checking out.
Taking place in a new region, Kirby and the Forgotten Land sees our hero exploring the land in order to free the Waddle Dees from The Beast Pack. Along with inhaling enemies and copying their abilities, Kirby can also use Mouthful Mode. This involves inhaling inanimate objects like cars, traffic cones and even rollercoaster cars to effectively “possess” them.
As more Waddle Dees are rescued, Kirby can build up the Waddle Dee Village and unlock upgrades for different abilities, areas like the Colosseum and much more. If you’re keen on trying the game out before buying, there’s a free demo available on the Nintendo eShop. It features two stages, a boss stage and co-op support.
