Knack to Feature Local Drop-In, Drop-Out Co-op Mode

Adults can pop in to help kids as they play.

PlayStation 4 lead system architect Mark Cerny may be busy with promoting and answering questions about the upcoming next-gen console. However, Cerny is also helping to develop the upcoming platformer Knack, which will launch with the console on November 15th in North America and November 29th in Europe.

In fact, Knack will feature a local co-op mode in which players can drop in and drop out without issues, and is intended to allow for kids to seek help when playing as Knack. The second player will control a silver robo-Knack which can fight enemies and collect parts to grow in size. As Knack gets weakened, the silver Knack can contribute parts to heal him.

“Progress is gated by what Knack does,” according to Cerny at a Gamescom presentation for Knack. This means that the second player won’t affect Knack’s progress through the campaign. Stay tuned for more details on Knack as we near the PS4’s launch.
