Kojima Station Web Series Suspended, March 26th Episode Cancelled

Details for future episodes pending but series is still alive.

Kojima Station, a weekly web show in which members of Kojima Productions staff and Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima would provide updates on their latest games, has been cancelled for the Friday of March 26th. This was revealed on the Japanese Metal Gear Solid Twitter account (as translated by DualShockers).

A date for the next episode has not been provided but the tweets confirmed that the series has not been cancelled. More details on when the next episode will happen have been promised. The tweets also confirmed that Hideo Kojima is still involved with Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.

Controversy arose last week when reports came out of Kojima leaving the company following the release of The Phantom Pain. What followed was the disbanding of Kojima Productions Japan and its restructuring into Konami, the removal of Kojima’s name from many marketing materials (though the latest trailer does include it) and a restriction on outside communication for many team members, including Kojima.

Whatever Kojima’s future may be, suffice to say that we’d be amazed if he stayed on in a full-time capacity after The Phantom Pain releases. Stay tuned for more information as the situation develops.
