Konami Holding “Auditions for Main Staff” on Next Metal Gear

Publisher looking to continue the series after MGS 5: The Phantom Pain.

Things are in a bit of a disarray since Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain director Hideo Kojima was rumoured to be leaving Konami by 2015 end. No official confirmation has come out regarding the same but Konami has revealed that it is planning the next Metal Gear game and is currently looking for main staff to lead development.

“Konami will continue to develop and distribute top-quality content in the Metal Gear series following Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. We greatly anticipate and deeply appreciate your ongoing support for Metal Gear.

“As the next step in the series, Konami has already resolved to develop a new Metal Gear title. We will be conducting auditions for main staff to lead the development. Interested parties are encouraged to contact us to via the recruitment page of the Konami official website.”

It will be interesting to see how this pertains to the future of Kojima Productions. Will it break off into its own studio or simply merge into Konami for Metal Gear development? We’ll follow the story as it develops.
