Latest Grand Theft Auto 5 Update for PS4 & Xbox One Led To A Graphics Downgrade

But Rockstar claims it was just a bug, and that they are already looking into a fix.

Some pretty damning evidence arose last night, when users realized that the latest update for Grand Theft Auto V on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 – meant to address the frequent stutters and frame rate drops that the fame often suffers from – had led to the graphics taking a drastic and dramatic hit.

It wasn’t just a case of counting pixels or something- it was a noticeable change, something you would have been able to notice right away. Also affected, apparently, was the destruction and physics model for the game- all these downgrades, players believed, having been made to patch up the game’s frame rate.

Naturally, there was an uproar- not only is this shady and disingenuous, something of the sort that companies like EA or Ubisoft would do,it also effectively meant that the graphics that had been used to rope people into buying the remastered port were now false advertising.

Apparently, however, all of this was a bug, and one that Rockstar is looking into. ‘We are aware of some graphical issues on the Xbox One and PS4 versions of GTAV after the most recent Title Update, and we are investigating a fix now,’ they said.

So in case you have the game, and aren’t necessarily big into GTA: Online? I would hold off on updating the game for a while. At least until the problem is fixed.
