“Man of Steel” Star Henry Cavill Nearly Missed Casting Call Due to WoW Raid

Thankfully Zack Snyder called again.

Hilarious enough as it sounds, Man of Steel star Henry Cavill, who plays Superman in the reboot produced by Christopher Nolas and directed by Zack Snyder, missed the first call for the casting because he was too busy participating in a raid for World of Warcraft, Blizzard’s wildly popular MMORPG.

Speaking to host Jay Leno of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Cavill revealed his love for World of Warcraft and stated that due to being in the middle of a raid, he couldn’t reach the phone in time to pick up Snyder’s call. Thankfully, the director called again. Skip to 0:58 in the video for where he speaks about the raid.

Cavill lends a new look to Superman, one that carried over into Injustice, developed by NetherRealm Studios, that went for a more radical looking Kryptonian. Needless to say, the hype for the film is immense and audiences everywhere have reacted favuorably to Cavill’s portrayal of the Man of Steel.

We’ll have to wait next week to find out how the movie actually is though. Hopefully Cavill will take a break from WoW and attend the premiere in time.
