Along with its Q3 fiscal year 2021 financial results, Nintendo has updated its list of top-selling Nintendo Switch games (as of December 31st 2021). Mario Kart 8: Deluxe continues to top the charts, sitting at 43.35 million sales. This is dramatic increase from the 38.74 million units sold as of September 30th.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is in second place with 37.62 million sales, up from 34.85 million, while Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is in third with 27.40 million sales, up from 25.71 million. A note about Pokemon Sword and Shield – it’s currently at 23.90 million sales, surpassing Pokemon Gold and Silver which has 23.70 million sales. This makes it the second highest selling Pokemon title of all time, just behind Pokemon Red and Blue (31.38 million sales).
Of course, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl also deserve a mention, having sold 13.97 million copies since launching on November 19th 2021.
