Mario Kart 8 Deluxe kicked off its prolonged drip-feed of DLC earlier this year with the first wave of the Booster Course Pass, bringing eight new tracks to the evergreen kart racer. Now, the second wave of the expansion pass has gone live as well, and it brings another eight tracks for players to race through.
Notably, Wave 2 brings a completely new track that’s making its series debut, with the Propeller Cup’s Sky High Sundae. The cup also includes Mario Kart Wii’s Mushroom Gorge, Mario Kart Tour’s Sidney Sprint, Mario Kart: Super Circuit’s Snow Land. Meanwhile, the Turnip Cup includes Mario Kart 64’s Kalimari Desert, Mario Kart Tour’s New York Minute, Mario Kart DS’ Waluigi Pinball, and Super Mario Kart’s Mario Circuit 3.
Like the previous wave and the coming four waves, even if you haven’t purchased the Booster Course Pass and are playing online with someone who has, you’ll still be able to play on the new tracks– though of course, you won’t be able to do so when playing solo.
Recently, Nintendo revealed updated sales figures for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (along with a number of other first party Switch titles), confirming that the racer has sold over 46.82 million units worldwide.
