Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Accessibility Options Include Slowing Down Game Speed

Players can set it to 30, 50 or 70 percent of the base game speed, and immediately switch back to normal in the upcoming sequel.

The PlayStation Store listing for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Insomniac’s sequel to the successful superhero open-world title, has recently been updated. It outlines some of the accessibility features that players can expect. Screen reader support for reading on-screen menus and captions and audio descriptions for the cinematics are included.

However, one of the new options is slowing down the action. You can set it to 30, 50 or 70 percent of the original speed and switch back to normal at any point. It’s not the first PlayStation exclusive to do so – The Last of Us Part 2 included it as an option at launch.

Given the fast-paced nature of combat and certain scenes, it’s a welcome addition. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is out on October 20th for PS5, with pre-loads going live on October 13th. It’s set nine months after the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, with Peter and Miles both playable and new villains like Venom, Lizard and Kraven to deal with.
