Even though The Wonderful 101 essentially collapsed on the Wii U for Japan, with a little more than 5,000 units sold in its debut week, Nintendo’s 3DS is still going strong according to the latest Media Create Sales charts. The 3DS XL managed to sell 35,044 units this week, which is down from last week’s 47,005 units, with the regular 3DS selling 16,053 units, down from 23,992 units the week prior. This was spurred by strong sales of Disney Magic Castle and Mario & Luigi: Dream Team.
In third place, the PlayStation 3 sold 12,689 units this week, compared to 14,331 units from the week before. Meanwhile, PlayStation Vita still hasn’t managed to rise above the hubris, selling 11,507 units this week in comparison to last week’s 19,363 units.
The Wii U meanwhile is sitting at fifth place, with 7,030 units, down from 12,047 units. Given that an exclusive third party exclusive in the form of The Wonderful 101 didn’t manage to affect sales, one may wonder how much of a difference future titles will make.
