Media Create Hardware Sales: PlayStation Vita at Number Two Position

The Nintendo 3DS XL continues to reign however.

The release of games like Soul Sacrifice helped propelled Sony’s PlayStation Vita slightly up the hardware charts in Japan according to the latest hardware sales charts from Media Create.

The Vita sold 21,399 units this week compared to 15,011 units the week before. The Nintendo 3DS XL is still riding strong, despite coming down from its high of 57,089 units to 37,536 units this week. The surge last week was due in part to the release of Tomodachi Collection: New Life, which debuted the week before with more than 400,000 units old.

The regular 3DS holds on at number 3 with 17,897 units while the PS3 is at number 4 with 14,682 units sold. Unfortunately, the Wii U is still stuck in fifth position, selling only 8,262 units – which is more or less the same as the amount it sold the week before (8,798 units).

And yes, the Xbox 360 is still in last place. But at least it cracked half a thousand units this week. So there’s that.
