Following a successful week for all platforms in Japan, especially for the Wii U which managed to ship more than 100K units, Media Create revealed its software charts for December 16th to 22nd.
GungHo’s Puzzle & Dragons Z for the 3DS remains on top with some strong sales, notching up another 256,373 units (lifetime sales of 800,003 units), while Pokemon X & Y sold another 212,666 units to cross 3.5 million units in lifetime sales for Japan.
Other significant developments include the release of Drakengard 3 for the PS3, which sold 114,024 in its debut week and Super Mario 3D World for the Wii U which sold 86,408 units for a lifetime sales total of 327,514 units. Other releases such as Shin Gundam Musou for the PS Vita were fairly inconsequential. Gundam did manage to sell 52,667 units in its debut week though. Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Tomodachi Collection: New Life and Monster Hunter 4 make up the usual suspects.
Stay tuned for more details on sales during the Christmas week itself in the coming days.
