A new teaser for Metroid Dread is now available and though short, it offers a look at the Chozo. While usually a part of Samus’s various adventures, it seems the ancient entities have a bigger role in the story this time around. What could it mean? Check it out below and try to guess for yourself.
Taking place after Metroid Fusion, Metroid Dread sees Samus traveling to the planet ZDR after a transmission indicated that the X parasite is still alive. Seven EMMI robots have been sent by the Galactic Federation but upon her arrival, Samus finds that they’ve gone rogue and now view her as an enemy. Attempting to unravel the mystery, our hero must also avoid detection by the E.M.M.I.s and survive.
Metroid Dread is developed by MercurySteam of Metroid: Samus Returns fame and releases on October 8th for the Switch. Along with melee combat and free aim, it introduces stealth, allowing Samus to sneak around and hide when an E.M.M.I. is nearby along with using the Phantom Cloak to camouflage herself.
