Metroid Prime 4 Developer Retro Studios Hiring New Art Director

Development on the game, it seems, has begun in earnest.

Metroid Prime 4 may not be coming for a while yet, but progress is still being made with new (but also old) developers Retro Studios. A couple months ago, Retro began recruiting for development on the title, signalling that development on it had started in earnest, and now they’ve taken to Twitter once again to post a listing for another job opening.

The ad states that Retro is looking for an Art Director who can “lead the collaborative development of Metroid Prime 4’s artistic direction.” Given how important art is to a game like Metroid Prime, which relies so much on atmosphere, and how typically strong the series has been in this area in the past, one would imagine that this is a very important position they’re looking to fill. Take a look at their tweet below.

Metroid Prime 4 was originally announced at E3 2017, but development on the game was rebooted earlier this year and handed off to Retro Studios, the developers of the original Metroid Prime trilogy. We do not know much else about the project and what went on behind the scenes, but reports suggest that Retro pitched their involvement to Nintendo themselves. Read more on that through here.
