Metroid Prime 4

The story of Metroid Prime 4 is a turbulent one. Announced at E3 2017, the game went completely silent for almost two full years, before it was announced that development on the title had been completely rebooted, shocking many. What happened is anyone’s guess- considering how tight-lipped Nintendo tends to be, we will most likely never know the full story, though there’s rumors that the development of the game was in a state of constant chaos among many studios from the beginning. The good news in all of that was that the game was ultimately handed off to Retro Studios,  who are hiring for the title’s development now.

Retro took the Metroid series and reinvented it in a big way with 2002’s Metroid Prime on the Gamecube. It received two sequels, all to huge acclaim. As you can see from their official Twitter below, they are now hiring people specifically for the Metroid Prime 4 team. So it seems the rebooted development on the game is well underway.

Metroid Prime 4 is currently announced for the Nintendo Switch. No release date is announced, and with development being essentially restarted, odds are we won’t see this game for a very long time.
