New games specific to that console are generally launch titles because they launch the same day a new generation console does. He knows this,he’s just trying to dumb down the fact that there are not alot of exclusives specifically for the XB1X. Games that are backwards compatible or current games coming to a new system are not launch titles because they aren’t new to the system.

No. Whether its new gen or mid gen, launching title should, and have been representing the new game regardless of the same gen or last gen. PS3 at the beginning supported both PS1 and PS2 games. Does that make PS3 had thousands of launching titles? Xbox people would gone mad if Sony had taken such marketing strategy lol What MS should have said was 50 enhanced games, not launching games.

In fact, you need to have a built in emulator in order to be able to play older games so that’s still taking advantage of a new platform because that’s something not possible on a predecessors. What makes it more BS is the fact that BC has been a default option for PC since the very beginning. And somehow people praise it as if this is super cool new alien technology that’s whole new game changer which isn’t entirely true if you look at the PS4 and XB1 worldwide sale. BC is a good feature to have but it doesn’t hurt either if you don’t have it. People more care about playing new games at a new platform and BC is something optional. It makes me curious how easily people fall for such a fake hype.

The last decade didn’t have mid-generation consoles did they? Because if they did maybe I somehow missed them.
Launch titles were games immediately available to play when a console is launched. Past consoles where like platforms in and of themselves so each game were developed specifically for them so you have a few games launched with the console that are immediately playable. Now is totally different because we have mid generation console so I don’t believe the traditional sense of “launch titles” apply.

A PC with the same features as the Xbox one X console would cost close to $1000 then you have to factor in the cost of a larger hard drive which could put the price to $1100 or more, because game size on pc are pretty much the same on Xbox one x so there’s no difference there.
And question: who wants to put a big ugly PC in their living room? Your suggestion isn’t sensible at all.

For that PC price it would be best to buy the console + about 9 full priced games.

Also, sure, anyone can wait 6 months or whatever, it’s the nature of electronics, the price goes down as time goes on or can buy with bundles. There’s nothing wrong with that.

Old games with extra shine? What do you consider old? Not out yet, released in the past few months? You can come in at about the $700 range, but even then people who do that omit things like a controller, 4K blu ray drive, 4K HDMI cable, and an operating system. About the 4K blu ray drive being washed out, I’ve tried it and it works fine. Is it the best 4K blu ray player? Probably not. However it sure as heck beats out the 4K blu ray player on my PS4 Pro….oh wait it has none. Hardware issues coming out? Really now? A few people are having issues powering on and it seems to be an issue with the power cord and not the hardware. Besides, can you tell me one system out there that launched without a single failure? Maybe PS1? That had massive failure rates, as did PS2 with its infamous disc read error which seemed to happen just after the warranty expired. How about the PS3 with its yellow light of death? PSP with its dead pixel, and screen bleeding issues? PS4 Pro overheating, and issues with blinking when connected to the VR.
