Monster Hunter 4 Sells More Than 1.8 Million Units in First Week

And that's for only the two days it's been on sale.

Remember how we talked about Capcom shipping 2 million copies of Monster Hunter 4 to retailers in Japan? Famitsu has news about how many copies were sold, and despite only being on retail for two days within its first week, the 3DS title managed to sell 1.875 million copies. Capcom currently estimates 2.8 million copies to be sold by March but considering the enthusiasm, it could very well hit that number far sooner.

The number is also significant considering that very few games for the 3DS like Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Mario Kart 7 managed to cross the 2 million units barrier (with those games selling 3.4 million and 2.1 million till date respectively). And they needed almost a year each to get to those numbers.

The release of Monster Hunter 4 also helped raise 3DS XL and 3DS hardware sales this week as well, as both combined managed to ship about 298,000 units over the week. Stay tuned for more details as the Monster Hunter 4 train rolls on?
