Monster Hunter-Esque Dauntless Enters Closed Beta on PC

Players who purchase the Founder's Packs will receive access.

Phoenix Labs’ Dauntless has been gathering some attention, mostly because it’s very Monster Hunter-like but available for PC, a platform the franchise has traditionally avoided. If you’re interested in trying the game, then you’re in luck – the closed beta has recently begun and it’s possible to gain access with a Founder’s Pack available on the official site.

The $40 option includes Closed Beta access, a “champion status” that lasts for 90 days and confers more drops from Behemoths. You also get some consumable items, a title to be used in-game, a forum icon and exclusive flare. Then there’s the $70 pack which has all of the above with 10 Chromo Cores and 10 Transmog Stones.

Dauntless still doesn’t have a release date but it will be available as a free to play game by 2017 end. There will also be an open beta at some point but Phoenix Labs isn’t saying when. As it stands, there will be regular updates and content for the game including new weapons, Behemoths and story missions so you won’t be running out of things to do.
