Last year, Monster Hunter finally had its breakout moment in the west, when Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate launched on the Nintendo 3DS and proceeded to sell over a million in Europe and North America alone. It looks like this success was enough to get Capcom to commit to more frequent localizations of the series, because Monster Hunter X will be launching in the west this summer as Monster Hunter Generations.
Monster Hunter Generations is a faster paced take on the traditional franchise formula, so every one of you who has had an issue with the relatively slower, more plodding pace of the games so far will probably find this new one more appealing.
Nintendo also announced special bonuses for people who have save data from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, meaning all those hundreds of hours you spent playing that? They won’t go to waste, guys!
Monster Hunter Generations launches exclusively on Nintendo 3DS systems in Summer.
