Mario Kart 8 Deluxe isn’t the only game that’s getting some crossover content with Nintendo’s super hit open world adventure The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. As it turns out, the upcoming Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, the Switch version of the expansion of the 3DS Monster Hunter game, will also be getting some Breath of the Wild themed content.
A new video has been released (which you can view below), showing off Champion Link themed gear for the hunters, as well as general Zelda themed gear for Palicoes. It’s not the first time Monster Hunter has received Nintendo themed content (Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate famously had Mario and Luigi styled Palicoes, for example), but it does come as a bit of a surprise, given the general awkwardness around Nintendo’s relationship with Capcom, and Capcom’s with Nintendo and the Switch, that exists at the moment.
But I’m not complaining, really. Not that I’d use this gear over actual armor fashioned from one of the hundred plus monsters that are present in this game. Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate launches exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on August 28.
