DriveClub’s launch was a massive clusterfuck of epic proportions, but to Evolution Studios’ credit, they have since been working extremely hard to get things back to where they should be. Unfortunately, that hasn’t exactly been good enough, especially considering that three weeks since the game’s launch, there are still multiple issues with the game’s connectivity, which was always advertised as its central, headlining feature.
Today, Evolution Studios posted an update regarding the issue on their Facebook (Facebook account may be required to view link):
“There are more servers coming online and there will be a significant server update to improve performance in the next 24 hours. We will also be running performance diagnostics around this update, but there shouldn’t be much disruption or downtime,” they said.
“This server update will improve online performance across the game and it also brings specific improvements for multiplayer racing and leaderboard updates.
“More improvements will follow as we make progress on Sunday and Monday, but we still have more work to do to get everything back on track before we can give you any bigger or better news. We will keep you up to speed,” they concluded, before thanking players for their support.
Of course, conspicuously missing from this update was any mention of the PS+ version of the game, about which Evolution has since gone on a radio silence. When called out on this issue in the comments section, Evolution had this to say:
“It’s still temporarily on hold while we work to improve server performance. We will keep you updated on this.”
Honestly, at this point I’m not sure it ever will materialize, and even if it does, I think Evolution has already lost so much goodwill, it won’t matter.
Stay tuned to GamingBolt regarding news on this matter anyway.
