Mr. Magpie’s Harmless Card Game Revealed, Brings A Deckbuilding Twist To Corporate Apathy

Climbing the corporate ladder is never easy, especially when your boss is hell-bent on killing you before you get to the top.

We’ve all had horrible bosses at some point, but are they really that bad if they didn’t try to kill you?

Mr. Magpie’s Harmless Card Game is going to try answering that question, although we’d say that the murderous maniac is definitely up there with some of the worst ones from the real world. This one’s a deckbuilding horror title that brings your worst office nightmares to life. It’s creepy and sinister, but you do get to exploit synergies to earn cash and go up a few ranks. That’s an appraisal cycle that might tempt us to head into an office where clocking out could be of a more permanent nature.

Of course, you’re going to have to deal with that one colleague who can’t stand to see you succeed, and you’re going to have to avoid him at all costs. There’s always a Jerry with less-than-honorable intentions lurking around trying to one-up you, but this dude’s apparently quite desperate for a raise. It’s a pity that he’s trying to get it at your expense.

It’s a unique vibe and art style that works well with the gameplay loop on offer in one of the PC Games Show’s more bizzrre trailers.
