PS4’s CPU has better performance. Could have a higher clockrate or less cores reserved.

RAM reserve is 3 on xbox and 3.5 on PS4, with 1GB “flex memory”.

OS overhead/drivers explains some of the non-hardware performance difference.

We’re already seeing “real life scenarios” in multiplat games right now.
30% is assuming Xbox’s GPU isn’t being bottlenecked by ROPs, mem size/width, or OS reserves/overhead/other software issues. We’re seeing up to 100%+ performance difference in some games (720p to 1080p).

In reply to Mikeherp Derp. GPU teraflops difference is 40%, CPUs are the same but the Xbox one has been OC at the last minute so it is actually faster by 10%. Memory reserve is 4.5 on the PS4 and 3.5 on he Xbox. It is said in some case the PS4 can get an extra 1 but nobody said at what cost and in which circumstance it can be used. GDDR5 is indeed a lot faster. I doubt the extra latency causes much drawbacks. Big PS4 advantage there, just like with the GPU. OS overhead difference is pure conjecture and is subject to change back and forth with SDK updates. How all this translates in real life scenario is hard to say for sure but a 30% advantage for the PS4 makes sense.

In reply to IWorshipCats. +6 CUs, +560 GFlops (44% greater), +16 ROPs, +8 ACEs/CQs, better GPGPU support, better performing CPU, and faster unified memory. PS4 OS may also have less overhead or reserves. Combine all of that and the performance difference is currently far greater than the raw teraflops indicate.
