New Fez patch breaks the game, pulled from Xbox Live

Fez’s developer Polytron has issued a warning not to download the latest patch for the game, as it corrupts the save file. They were bewildered that it wasn’t found during testing and pledged to fix it within two months. Meanwhile, Microsoft has pulled the patch from Xbox Live, ensuring that it will no longer cause damage.

“There is an issue that seems fairly widespread where the save file can be seen as corrupted by the game after installing the patch,” developer Polytron wrote on their site.

“We’re floored that this wasn’t found in testing. For the moment, deleting your system cache should resolve the issue, but if that fails, there is no known workaround.

“We’ll keep you updated on the situation.”

If you are affected by the new patch, then tough luck. You may have to restart the game. Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
